Hello,
I have holes/expansion holes (?) on each side at the top and bottom of my wooden windows. Mostly, there was a kind of putty in them, which I removed for painting. I then left the holes open. Now, after 4 years, I have to paint the windows again and I suspect that condensate has collected through these holes, causing the paint in this area to come off more than elsewhere.
My questions are:
1. What kind of holes are these?
2. Do they have to be puttied or left open?
3. If puttied, what kind of material should be used?
Best regards
Rüdiger
