Hello everyone,
my knowledge indicates that after screed installation, ventilation must not take place at all for 7 days. Especially tilting windows is not suitable due to lower outside temperatures, as the walls cool down slowly and the humidity does not completely escape from the house.

Now I have noticed that the screed installer tilted a few windows immediately after the screed installation. Can you say whether this ventilation behavior is problematic? Please consider that we currently have outside temperatures of up to 38 degrees (during the day) and 21 degrees at night. The lowest temperature is expected to drop to a maximum of 15 degrees in the next few days.

What is your opinion? Thank you for your answers.

Hello "Sheriff1981".
It is indeed questionable what the screed installer was thinking.
Because two aspects are crucial with new screeds:
1. the young screed must not be exposed to drafts (which cannot be ruled out with tilted windows) and
2. the young screed must not lose its moisture too quickly (which it needs for curing).
Both harmful aspects cannot be ruled out with tilted windows during the initial phase!
So we have to wait and see if the screed surface "wears out" after hardening (easily determined with a wire brush applied with moderate pressure over the screed surface) and furthermore, if the screed tends to develop spider cracks.
You can therefore use fairly simple methods to determine whether the screed installer’s behavior was counterproductive!
