Hello,

I am considering having parquet flooring installed in my condominium, treated according to an old method from Scandinavia. The parquet is then brushed and oiled and is supposed to be very easy to maintain and resistant.

Since I have underfloor heating, only oak parquet is an option for me.
Does anyone have experience with brushed and oiled oak parquet? Is it recommended? Are there any negative experiences? What should be taken into account?

I look forward to any helpful answers.

Thank you!

Seems to me to be a rather unknown method here. Why not classic oiling of the floor? I have oiled oak all over the apartment, and that is already a pleasure barefoot. Unfortunately, I cannot say how it behaves with soap; I only know the use of soap for cleaning purposes.

Thank you for the response. According to my parquet expert, the soaped variant (without oiling or waxing) is preferable to the others. What sounded particularly good to me is that it is supposed to be very low-maintenance. But also expensive. And I would like to hear a few more opinions on whether it is really worth it...

Teak decks on ships are treated this way to clean them. Advantage, non-slip, beautiful silvery patina, disadvantage, zero dirt repellent, only sock feet accepted inside the house. Parquet must be sealed. Then it will last.

Thank you for the argument. Although I only walk around in socks at home, you can't expect the same from every guest...
