Hello! We are comparing our sample selection documents with the original offer documents for what feels like the tenth time. In the process, we have discovered a few discrepancies. These include: - Snow guard grids > are €2940 including VAT for 20 linear meters, as well as €850 including VAT for roof steps, do you consider this a usual price? (with another general contractor it would have cost less than half each). In your opinion, are these "problematic items"? If another company were to carry out these works, could there be problems (e.g., a leaking roof or similar)? (both are fixed/screwed under the roof shingles) - Sound decoupled ceiling for the practice area > in the offer we had "Improved sound insulation of the wooden beam ceiling in the single-family house by using a spring rail instead of load-bearing battens (39.1 m²): €938 Now: sound-decoupled ceiling together with single-layer Knauf Silent Board, total €936 So double the price, as the special Knauf Silent Board would replace the normal plasterboard. We have not received a clear answer on how much better the new variant would be. Only that the sound insulation requirements have changed. Can someone help me estimate how much better the sound insulation of the already sound-decoupled ceiling would become? Thank you very much and have a nice weekend

We pay a net €31.90 per meter of snow guard and €20.24 per piece of roof safety hook. I hope that helps you.

On the topic of sound insulation: Google "Knauf drywall sound insulation pdf". There are tables for the different constructions and designs. As an alternative, you can also take a look at the corresponding Rigips variants. Depending on the requirement, they are sometimes more attractive in price.

Thank you XIII!
Is your "net €31.90 per meter snow guard" for the material only?
I am more concerned about the installation than the material..

The Knauf-Silent-Board is relatively expensive; I would like to understand if it is really worth the price, or if the suspended ceiling already provides most of the benefit

The costs for the snow guard are including installation. However, they are also Eastern prices.

For soundproofing, I currently only have the drywall panels in mind. Increasing the quality level/sound insulation level brings 1 dB improvement for a single-layer wall. A 3 dB sound reduction is perceived as halving the volume. The cost for increasing the quality level is between 1.5 and 2 euros per m2. Unfortunately, I don’t have the prices for the Knauf products in mind. Compare the Knauf "Silentboard" with Rigips "Die Harte". We are currently facing a similar decision as you and have decided to use the soundproofing panels from Rigips because they are more cost-effective than Knauf. If the budget allows, I would build as high-quality as possible here (if noise is an issue in the construction area). Changing something like this later when everything is finished and you find out that it’s still too loud is relatively complicated.

Thank you for your note, I couldn't find how many dB the silent plate would provide. But our main contractor would probably not build anything other than the Knauf.
At your place, the costs are about 75% cheaper.

Maybe your grids are much better?
The material used wasn't even mentioned. Maybe yours are custom-made and the cheaper ones are mass-produced? Or or or.
