Hello dear forum,
I would be interested to know if there are any experiences / opinions regarding the planned room heights, windows, and interior doors that we have.
In advance: the "problem" for us is that the top edges of the windows on the ground floor will be "significantly" (?) above the door frame. Do you have the same situation or do you usually plan the top edge of the interior door frame in line with the top edge of the window? Due to the ring beam on the upper floor, we do not have that problem there, since the windows are lowered "downward" and would not be as high as on the ground floor.
GF
Shell height: 2875mm
Floor construction: 180mm
Roller shutter height: 312mm
Shell window sill height: 1125mm
This results in a height of the top edge of the window frame of 2875-312-180, which is 2383mm in the finished room.
The top edge of the interior door frame would then be about 2160mm in the finished room.
That is a difference of 223mm.
Should we rather have the window height reduced (e.g. lintel) on the ground floor to achieve an approximately uniform alignment? We were told that the difference does not matter because windows on the exterior wall and interior doors should be seen as stylistically separate.
If we raise the doors, we would have custom sizes and then we would have different doors on the ground floor and upper floor with the same room height, which also seems odd, right?
I have checked the house construction pictures thread randomly and could not immediately spot such a difference in the pictures.
Best regards
