Hey,

I just wanted to ask around how you handle this:

During a recent inspection by the expert, he found that the covers (caps) of the roof ventilation do not comply with the DIN standard. So caps are no longer approved (and must be removed until acceptance). Therefore, open. However, I don’t really find an open roof ventilation appealing. How do you solve this? Strictly according to regulations or still caps? In the building area, I actually only see caps.

Thanks!

Does he mean that hoods are generally no longer allowed or only the installed models?

It is very easy to solve. Upon acceptance, you have an open roof vent. After you have this, you put the hood on it. The hood is not prohibited, it is a liability issue. The person accepting is liable for an incorrect acceptance if something happens. If something is changed after acceptance, then you are liable. It is exactly the same with a fall protection on a window. If you unscrew it again after acceptance, it is legal and your liability risk.
