Hello and good evening everyone,
Our builder decided in spring, due to the good weather, to start building quickly. Among other reasons, this is why we were not informed as agreed to paint the visible and invisible (interior) underside of the roof. Upon inquiring with the "painter" about how we should proceed with the painting, we received the following response.
"Undersides, e.g., of roofs or carports, are in many cases permanently exposed to condensation. Please consider that in unfavorable cases, due to the accumulation of condensate moisture on the components (back side), damage to the exterior coating can occur if the backsides are not coated."
We are now somewhat worried that we will have a rotting roof in some time.
How can we proceed? We have a Dekra building inspection. Is a painted interior underside of the roof prescribed in any way by the DIN, for example, so that we can make a complaint about this?
Thank you
Jörg
