Roof "open" since the end of November, only covered with a tarp

Hi everyone,

we are building with a construction company and had the topping-out ceremony at the end of November. Since then, unfortunately not much has happened (weather) and the house has now been "open" only covered with the tarp... Since a friend told me that it shouldn’t remain open like that for too long, as it is not good for the foil, I just checked. On the foil manufacturer’s website it says: "The open time as a temporary covering is to be limited to 4 weeks."

Allegedly, work will continue next week and the roof is supposed to be covered within the next two weeks. How would you proceed here? Building surveyor?

you just said it yourself: expert

no one here can tell you anything else anyway. the foil is only supposed to be left exposed for a short period of time because of uv radiation. uv radiation makes foils and the like brittle over time. whether 10 weeks instead of 4 really makes a difference in the end, for example, the manufacturer might be able to tell you. maybe ask them. that doesn't cost anything. if the alarm goes off, get an expert involved so that the construction company even has a reason to take action. unless, of course, you manage to sort it out with the company yourselves, which certainly won't be easy.
