Hello everyone,

I took a quick look at the attic today and noticed that many of the beams above are resting at an angle and the "side parts" are no longer firmly nailed. Does anyone have any advice on whether or what I should do? Should this be reported? Should I screw the beams myself? Is that how it’s supposed to be? Thanks & regards,

Yes, I would report that. No, that is not how it should be. Screwing is a pragmatic solution and it will probably come down to that. If it is a prefab house or [GU], the management should be informed of this work in order to improve the quality. They will surely have it rectified.

At Ikea, you always have to follow up ;) Now seriously: year of construction 2014... when was the handover? Immediately send a written complaint of defects with a deadline to the general contractor, or whoever was in charge of the project.
