Hello everyone,
in our 1962 house, the old manual wooden roller shutters are to be replaced with new electric aluminum roller shutters.
Our roller shutter technician recommends Somfy LT 50 roller shutter motors. These are manually set with buttons and are said to be particularly robust. They do not have obstacle detection or shut-off in case of freezing. That bothers me a bit.
I would tend to go for the Oximo 50 WT but have no experience in this field. The Oximo has all the electronics for shut-off and even self-adjusts if necessary. I have the feeling the LT 50 is old technology. But maybe that also makes it good?
For the roller shutter curtain, we were recommended wide Leo profiles, supposedly a subsidiary of Roma. Does anyone know the company? They are not exactly cheap at 103€ per sqm. In comparison, Warema profiles at 84€/sqm are cheaper.
The shafts are said to be all 60mm.
Is it correct to use 60mm shafts everywhere? Does it make sense to also install the wide 53 or 55mm profiles everywhere? I don’t know if one should start mixing?
Can someone give me help with the decision? The motors are to be operated by normal switches.
Best regards, Thomas
