Roller shutter box / support stones - which material

Hello everyone,

for the execution of the roller shutter boxes and the shelf stone between the floors, we were offered on the one hand the styrofoam variant (such as from Fa. Lohrelement); another structural engineer is convinced of brick roller shutter boxes and brick shelf stones.

Does anyone here have experience or knowledge about these designs? What are the respective advantages and disadvantages.

Being familiar is probably an exaggeration, but for me, the brick roller shutter boxes plus insulation plus bricks have been installed. I like the solution, but it is more prone to errors because it is more complex – and craftsmen tend to prefer working quickly rather than carefully. With appropriate supervision, however, it also works – and I am satisfied. :-)
