Hello,

I wonder (Google/forums do not provide any answers here) whether there is a concrete danger from marten bites to the heat pump outdoor unit (power and refrigerant lines), and how the pump could be secured.
Have there been any victims here before :-)?

Thanks!

If Google does not provide any results, it could be because no one has had this problem before or has never associated it with a [Marder].

Isn't it the case that martens seek the warmth of the engine, in a car now, and then just nibble? With the outdoor unit, there is no corresponding warmth. Why would martens stay there? That's the only way I can explain it.

That's right, it is cold and loud (at least during operation)

With monoblock devices, there is already heat on the outside of the device. However, these hot water pipes should be very well insulated, which should make it more difficult for martens to gnaw on them. However, it is unknown whether martens also enter the device and cause damage there.
