Hello everyone,

we have removed a glued carpet in the old building, but some residues remain on the floor (see photo). Since the floor structure in this area has to be raised by 10-15 mm anyway, my question is whether it is necessary to remove the residues?

We were told that OSB boards can be laid to raise the floor structure. Vinyl is to be installed on top afterwards. Are OSB boards the first choice or is there an alternative?

Thank you very much.

Best regards
Daniel

For this, self-leveling compound is used. The residues should be removed; there are scrapers for that.

So: the leftovers gone. Must. Then the leveling compound: 1.5cm I find a bit much for that. Take a look on YouTube at how to work with dry screed. There are videos. K.

Thanks in advance, do the residues come off with a carpet stripper? Or would that only have worked if you had removed the entire carpet with it directly? Now there are only some fluff left on it!?
