Good morning,

the house construction is slowly coming to an end and we need a residential building insurance as well as a new household insurance. The latter we currently have with [Ammerländer]. We are quite satisfied with them regarding price/performance, but how "good" they really are we have never had to find out - fortunately! ;)

However, one can also sometimes read on the internet that the handling is not always very supportive, but that [Ammerländer] likes to be obstructive at times. Especially in hardship cases (as is often the case with residential building or household insurance), one actually wants a partner who supports you as smoothly as possible. Price-wise, [Ammerländer] is of course very interesting, no question about that. But the overall package has to be right. Maybe someone can say something about [Ammerländer]?

Otherwise, I am still relatively unbiased. :)
I personally find [Debeka Versicherung] quite good - and maybe [Haftpflichtkasse Darmstadt] is also interesting.

An extensive coverage of natural hazard damage would also be important to me. Glass breakage and bicycle theft are not necessarily required.

I would be very grateful for tips and recommendations.

Thanks for the effort

Best regards
Gatho

There was a comprehensive test on residential building insurance last year in Stiftung Finanztest, just search for it there. Yes, one can have differing opinions about Stiftung Finanztest and their tests (I had a heated discussion about this yesterday in another forum), but at least as a first basic information I always like to use their tests.

Hello,

especially with new construction, as you already said, you should consider a very good range of services and all natural hazards.

We have decided here on Sparkassen Versicherung with a fixed agency that makes a good impression.

you first have to think about what you want to use the insurance for. with a new build, probably for the next 15 years no roof will fly off or anything like that. [elementar schäden] are always worth considering.

with the household insurance it gets a bit more specific. if you have the insurance to replace stolen 300-euro garden furniture, you need a premium deluxe insurance that pays for every little thing and doesn't kick you out. but if you don't even want to report an attempted break-in yourself and only want to use it in a major damage case, a simple cheap one will be enough.
