Hello,

Our preliminary approval for a single-family house has been granted, however subject to conditions from the State Office for Monument Preservation. The reason for this is apparently that there is a church in the immediate neighborhood.

The following conditions are attached to the positive decision:

- Exterior walls to be smoothly plastered and whitewashed.

- Roof to be covered in red.

- Windows are to be made of wood.

What do you think about this? Who has experience with such conditions?

Hello,

You absolutely must comply with these requirements, otherwise, you are not allowed to build your house. Considering that it concerns monument protection, however, the conditions are very minimal and almost comparable to the normal requirements of a development plan. What will be somewhat more expensive are the required wooden windows. I would suggest contacting the building authority to ask if plastic windows in "wood look" are also permitted.

Kind regards
