Hello everyone,

I am planning to replace the window glass of my plastic window frames. According to my research, it is a windowpane with Viennese bars (so just one pane of glass and not, as one might assume, eight individual glass panes). Now I wonder if this is even feasible without having to install a completely new window frame...?

Maybe there are some experts here who can give me a tip about this.

1. I would like to replace the old, blind windowpane with a "normal" insulating glass pane without bars. Is that possible or is it to be feared that the glazing beads have notches?

2. How do I remove the bars as easily as possible so that I can knock out the glazing beads to remove the pane?

Thank you very much for the help.

Of course, you can simply have it replaced without buying the entire frame... but for that, it's best to go to a glazier, who will get you the new glass and also install it... no idea how old your window is, but to remove the glass here, you had to unscrew the frame... No smashing the glass...
