We are currently in the process of buying an old house and everyone tells us different things about the windows: They are 2-pane glazed wooden windows 23 years old. They have never been maintained or painted. Actually, such windows usually have a longer lifespan than just over 20 years, so we are wondering whether they need to be replaced or if painting and refurbishing is enough?! Oh yes: We do not plan any additional insulation of the facade.

Please arrange an appointment with a carpenter who also offers window construction. The windows might still be in such good condition that you can use them for the next 20 years. If necessary, the carpenter can adjust the frame groove for the glass width.
