Hello everyone,
we are about to purchase and modernize a single-family house. The aging wooden windows are to be replaced by floor-to-ceiling wooden-(aluminum) windows.
Problem 1: all locally contacted companies offer the windows (from in-house production or) various manufacturers, about which I have found no hits here in the forum. Therefore, my question is whether there are any experiences and how we can generally approach the topic and make a preliminary selection, or are the differences in these areas rather minor? The list includes:
Problem 2: the existing windows have an exterior reveal and roller shutters, which should be retained. The window companies we have spoken to so far say that is possible, but of course they cannot guarantee anything. However, I am concerned that either the reveal will suffer greater damage or the whole thing will be somehow cobbled together, but in no case will it come close to the original condition, neither in terms of quality/sealing nor appearance. Does anyone have an idea whether this can even fit together in a wooden-aluminum window variant with such a reveal?

Grateful for any tips...
