Hello everyone! I have a question regarding the replacement of my old slightly warped front door. My old frame is 70mm wide, the front door I have now chosen is 90mm. So I need 20mm more space. Do I go inward, where, for example, there are tiles on the floor, or outward, where the facade has 60mm insulation? I have two different offers from installers, and one would go inward and the other outward. What makes more sense??? Or should I keep looking to see if I can find a door with a frame approximately 70mm wide?

Thanks in advance, I have attached three pictures of my old door

best regards

Even if you probably mean a frame here rather than a door jamb: I especially don't see an "old" door here. And it is also made of plastic; I doubt it is warped. I wouldn’t just throw three grand at a new door plus let some smurfs install the doors and ruin my building structure. I think what is really needed here is a professional who correctly readjusts the door for a low three-figure amount.

I would spontaneously rather "widen" the door outward because otherwise the wooden paneling inside would have to be shortened. I imagine that to be more difficult than cutting into the insulation on the outside.

Maybe one has to decide spontaneously after removing the frame, depending on how cleanly the installer was able to cut it out and how well the connection to the wood inside can be made.

Ok, thanks for the answers, then I will take a look to see if it can be fixed again. Thanks!

"Adjust" is the term. All three straps can be adjusted in two axes. Due to weight, sometimes you have to readjust them after only a few years. There's no need to "fix" anything because I don't believe in warping.

and on all doors and windows there is a small symbol on the hinges,
Oil annually,
maybe you have forgotten that for 20 years
