Hello dear forum users,
I am new here and writing on behalf of a very good friend.
It is about the conversion of her existing stable building for barrier-free living, as she has a very sick husband who can hardly walk anymore. Currently, she lives in her house next to the stable building. Since this is also a conversion of an agricultural building from 20 years ago, a disabled-friendly conversion would actually be impossible, as the house is very convoluted and cramped due to its layout. The stable building has a large area and would be ideal for barrier-free living. The authorities have also given the green light so far.
About the stable building itself: floor area 170 sqm. Good basic structure, no demolition needed. The following would have to be done: new roof, intermediate ceiling would have to be installed because the building is too high, complete insulation, heating, sewage connection, electricity and water connections are there but would of course also have to be renewed, partition walls, windows, doors, disabled-accessible bathroom. So actually a new build, so to speak. How much would such a conversion cost approximately? Would my friend receive subsidies here? If yes, how much?
I haven't really found anything on the internet. Maybe someone here can help me, that would be great. Best regards
