Hello!

Many old houses have a complete facade cladding.
"Eternit makes houses fit!"

This shingle-like cladding was mainly used for visual purposes, right? Some houses have only one side clad, the weather side.

The question: if you dismantle the cladding plus its substructure, which should be relatively easy in principle, does it only have visual effects? Or was insulation material also stuffed in there? The underlying original house wall/exterior plaster would probably have to be at least repaired and painted after exposure.

It is not unlikely that these already old cladding panels are asbestos-contaminated.
Fibers are supposedly only released when drilling or breaking. Probably only a specialist company should handle a simple removal? As far as I know, the stuff must be disposed of safely, packed in bags.
Can an approximate disposal price per sqm be given?

The reason for the question is that a nice house is for sale, but is clad all around, which we don’t like that much. We first have to ask the seller what exactly is on there, or maybe find out from company stamps or similar.

Thanks!

Regards
