Hello everyone,

this year we are building a single-family house using timber frame construction.

We would like to have a recessed mirror cabinet in the bathroom. Can you simply use a built-in frame in timber frame construction and then install any cabinet, or do you need to have specific cabinets with aluminum frames?

Perhaps someone has experience with this.

Best regards

We have timber frame construction and a flush-mounted mirror cabinet. That was no problem at all, during the planning phase we simply designed a wall niche in the desired dimensions and later installed the flush-mounted mirror cabinet. Completely without an aluminum frame or anything like that. We simply left a shadow gap on all sides, it looks splendid and was completely hassle-free. Of course, you can also install a regular mirror cabinet in such a wall niche.

No, simply choose the cabinet, obtain the installation instructions with the rough construction dimensions of the required opening, and have the niche executed accordingly. Later, hang the thing in.
