Hello everyone,

does anyone of you use the knife compartment? I got rid of my old knife block because I want to have all knives and scissors together in one drawer. For the good knives, I would like to use the knife compartment, but when I look at the picture, I don’t know how it is supposed to work with the 7 knives, the slots in the upper area are clear but what is the second block for, it has fewer slots.
I actually wanted to use the lower area for small knives, but is that even possible???

I would be happy if someone could briefly explain this compartment to me.

Best regards
Frauke

This is for deeper knives. The slots in the first block are deeper at the places where there are also slots in the second block. I have my vegetable cleaver in there, for example. In the others are the flat knives, like fish and cheese knives, for example.

@ billyjohn,

thanks for your answer, I think I understood, but two more questions... could the first compartment or the first area be used for small knives (lying crosswise) or scissors, or do the large knives overhang this area? Sorry, I have no sense of length at all right now.
It would be very kind if you could also tell me how far a knife with an overall length of 36.5 cm and a blade length of 24.5 cm would reach? Would it go up to or over the first block? But that is actually the only knife of mine that is that long, the others are smaller.

Thanks and
Best regards, Frauke
