Hello,
I plan to cover the terrace this year. The length of the covering is about 4m, and it is to be made with a steel substructure. Now to my question. I want to screw a steel rail, either an angle profile or a rectangular tube, onto the exterior wall. The longitudinal beams are then supposed to rest on that.
Can I simply screw the steel rail to the wall, since the walls are built with an approximately 10cm thick wooden layer on the outside, right?

You must have received documents for your house. 10 cm of wood as an exterior wall is certainly not correct. In general, however, you can screw on the profiles, provide 10m of rubber underlay for decoupling.
