Hello everyone,
I need your advice!

We are building a prefabricated house and doing the painting work ourselves. (We already know that was a mistake - why? We only just realized that we have Q2 spackling! We were not told during the sampling that Q2 is not paint-ready (but that is another matter and also our own fault).

I need your advice on our spackling work - contractually, Q2 is specified - I now know the definition of Q2 inside and out - we are satisfied with the large areas. However, we have problems in the corners and screw attachments.

We are not happy with the company’s result and are now at a point where we have to decide between the company’s offer (2 more hours of rework + 200 Euro credit) or having an expert appraisal done.

First question: In Q2, do screws and staples need to be spackled twice?

Second question: We actually have a problem in all corners and edges where there are holes or the mesh is showing - meaning it was sanded down so far that you can see the mesh again and these spots are also extremely rough and full of holes - I have attached some pictures because I can hardly describe it.

We are aware that Q2 is not paint-ready - but we just don’t think the work has been done cleanly here -
What do you think?

Many thanks

Do you want baby-bottom walls? Then you still need a company anyway, or you put in one to two weeks of work yourself. Depending on the level of effort, part-time or full-time.

If you can come to terms with [Rollputz], I would accept the offer and do a bit of touch-up work myself. According to the Pareto principle, that wouldn't be too much.

However, it makes the painting take longer.

I can't say anything about [Q2].
Except that the painter wasn't an expert with the sanding machine, but you can see that for yourselves.

So in my eyes it's a weak Q1... always surprising what some "craftsmen" deliver. Regarding question 1, definitely in terms of the putty work.
