Hello everyone,

we have decided to build a solid house instead of with Kern-Haus. Maybe all the internet research makes you overly cautious, but what happens if the house building company (for which we have yet to decide; currently the companies Kampa, Kern-Haus, and Weberhaus are in consideration) goes bankrupt? These are all big companies, but how secure are you? I hope I got the right topic Maybe a moderator can move it otherwise please

Not at all

You can only gather as much information as possible about the company in advance (Creditreform etc.) and try not to give up control over your capital (irrevocable guarantees / assignment).

Thank you very much for the quick response so unfortunately I had already suspected something like that Is there any insurance protection that is worthwhile?

One more thing I forgot. A [contract performance guarantee] would also be a suitable form of security.

Hello,

Reading educates .. or browse here in the forum; I really can't count anymore how many times I've already answered this question

For the first choice, you rely on a successor company, for the second choice (by the way, something completely different) you buy a "squeaky" house, and for the last choice, the experience of a very solvent company over the years.

Please ask your financing bank to obtain a credit report (costs around €20-25, depending on the bank), google the respective provider names (not the homepage), inquire at your energy agency or consumer advice center, and - if you want to choose one of the three - request a completion guarantee, which after handover of the house turns into a warranty guarantee. Only solvent companies receive such a document from the guaranteeing bank.

Kind regards
