Hello everyone,

is there a good method to protect the front door from dirt and damage during the construction phase? Or does it apply here that it must be installed as late as possible?

I have always assumed that it would be normal to have a site door during the construction phase? Would that not be an option for you?

First, a construction door will be installed. However, the correct door has already been ordered and will presumably be delivered to the installer in the not too distant future. And he probably doesn't want to keep it in his warehouse forever either. But I will definitely address it once the door has arrived from the manufacturer.
We didn't want to order the door later because it was part of a promotion and, above all, because this decision was simply finalized. In other construction projects, it probably doesn't always work out schedule-wise to install the front door almost at the very end.

With us, the frame, which is protected with adhesive foil, has arrived, the handle is attached but protected with tape. The actual filling is not in place and will now be replaced by a wooden board. Karsten

Hi,
with us, the final front door was only installed shortly before handover. The frame, of course, was installed earlier, but until about 2 weeks before handover there was only a board with hinges and a lock as the door leaf. In the last weeks, it was then protected with thick blankets.

I definitely wouldn’t install it too early. You’ll surely get dents in it!

Regards,

Andreas

Protect front and back with corrugated cardboard, the edges are wrapped with foil.

Best regards
