Hello.

The approved building permit for a 160 sqm single-family house is available, so I would like to start only with the planning of the electrical installation. For this, I will have the floor plans of both floors printed on A0 tomorrow so that I can draw everything in there.

What do I need to consider? It is not solely about which/how many switches and sockets should go exactly where. What else do I need to pay attention to?

Hello Kiesel,

TV, LAN should also be planned accordingly. Give the lamps and sockets numbers. Then you can assign to the switches the numbers of the lamps that should be controlled by the respective switch. You can also plan and assign switchable sockets. Are electric blinds planned? Individual switching and/or central control? There are probably more, I can't think of anything else right now.

Have fun planning

Best regards

Oh yes: Do you know the symbols used for electrical plans? If yes, good. If not, then google them and use them. Then it will be easier for the electrician to understand you later.

Thank you for your tips.

Yes, electric blinds are also planned. I actually want to automate everything with KNX. Whether yes/no (a cost question) and if yes, how, will be decided next week. I have appointments with various electricians for initial consultations. The wiring is unfortunately fundamentally different with KNX vs. conventional.

TV and LAN should be supplied via the same cable; so far an IP SAT system is planned for this. This way I save the coaxial cable and the corresponding sockets.

For TV, LAN, telephone or other media, I have empty conduits laid starting from the utility room, which end in 2x blank sockets in the rooms. This way, I can cable as needed or easily upgrade later. Especially in the media sector, technology changes rapidly and what is modern today is outdated in 5 years.

Make a rough plan yourself and the detailed planning with the electrician. He (probably) has more experience and knowledge of the different possibilities. That's how we did it and it worked out very well.

Hello,

I don’t quite understand your question ...

Basically, you should know what you want/need and what you don’t. Then take notes/room and discuss the actual execution on site (during the shell construction) with the electrician. We always do it that way, because even on a scale 1:50 plan a pencil dot often means 20 cm deviation in the later execution, and that is – for example, very certainly with symmetrically planned arrangement of ceiling spots – more than annoying.

Rhenish regards
