As the title already says, I would like to try again to venture into programming myself. Unfortunately, my previous attempt about 8 years ago was a total failure (and I used to mess around with AutoCAD for a while). I also don’t remember what program that was. But I would like something not too difficult, where you can easily and simply plan a floor plan as well as possibly do 3-D planning. Thanks in advance

I recommend starting the very rough planning first with a ruler, pencil, and paper. This is simply the fastest way. Only when the hand sketch seems to work should you carefully work in SweetHome3D.

As long as it is about turning a sketch into a model to then simply play around with the furniture (pay attention to the correct sizes) and test different furnishing options, SweetHome 3D is really quite good. Unfortunately, the 3D exterior view often fails due to the lack of options to create roofs. If it is supposed to be a house without a developed attic, there are tricks, but otherwise it really gets difficult ...

I think Fl-oor-plan-ner for floor plans is brilliant. It is a web application and free to use. There is an app (for viewing only). A few features like multiple levels in one project are paid (very cheap). But you don't need them. Just create or copy one project per floor. Unfortunately, you cannot display the entire building in 3D, only individual levels.
