Good day to the forum,
our house was built in 1977. In 1988, we had underfloor heating retrofitted in the ground floor. Since it was not possible to achieve a normal screed height due to the existing conditions, our heating engineer at the time recommended filling with annealed quartz sand after installing the copper pipes and then laying Fermacell boards double on top. This has worked wonderfully so far. Now the terrace door is due to be replaced. Is there a way to stabilize or vitrify the sand at the appropriate spot so that the sand does not run out when the old door is removed? Perhaps one or the other forum member has already implemented something similar. Thanks in advance for the ideas and suggestions.
