Hi, we want to prime our roof soffits at the carpenter’s already. They should be light gray. Does anyone have a paint manufacturer recommendation?
Thanks in advance, ciao Andi
A paint manufacturer recommendation can be obtained from the paint manufacturer or from a specialist dealer. What do you want to do with it if you already know how your wood should look? Do you want to stain it transparent or paint it opaque? For the first coat, paint all sides with a good branded wood preservative glaze, transparent colorless if staining, if opaque, the final coat should be light gray. For a transparent coat, I would apply a second light gray glaze coat before installation, and the final coat after installation with a mid-layer glaze or a thixotropically adjusted glaze. The first coat solvent-based, the two color coats solvent-free. For opaque painting, the first coat solvent-based with wood preservative glaze, the two topcoats with acrylic weather protection paint light gray. Then you will have peace of mind for years. Please paint everything before installation except the last coat, it is five times faster that way. Don’t save on the material, go to the master painter or specialist dealer.
