Good day,
we have had a leak in the drinking water pipe outside the house for several weeks.
The leak could not be found with the naked eye and the municipality connected a pressure gauge to the pipe and turned off the valve.
The pressure dropped from 8 bar to almost 0 bar within 1 minute.
I must say that our water pipe is laid 100 meters on the neighbor's property before it reaches our house.
Leak detection with test gas determined that the damage is on the floor slab between the garage and the house wall.
Today, the last 5-6 meters were dug up and a new water pipe was laid.
The municipality tested the pressure again and it slowly fell from 8 to 3 bar, but since 12 o'clock it has not dropped further and remains at 3 bar.
The municipality is sure and believes there is a second break point.
I wonder why the pressure then remains at exactly 3 bar on the 100-meter-long pipe.
Is there something I am not considering here? If there were a leak, shouldn't it drop down to 0 bar again?
I would be grateful for any ideas. We are relying on emergency water supply, which is really annoying.
Best regards
Kadir
