We are just starting the construction of our semi-detached house and need a pile foundation due to the poor soil conditions. Since we also have very high groundwater, the excavation pit was first dug about 1m deep and a backfill of about 50cm was added. In about 2 weeks, the pile foundation is to begin and the construction manager of the specialist company has inspected the preliminary work. We were then informed that, to transport the drilling rig into the excavation pit, a paved construction road must be built as well as a 10x10m area prepared for 2 containers. Although a driveway was listed in the previous checklist for the preliminary work, there was no mention of it needing to be paved. To reach our excavation pit, I would now have to have a road about 20m long covered with gravel and then removed again afterwards. Not to mention that one of the plots has already been sold and I would certainly first have to obtain the owner's permission here. Is this effort really justified? After consulting with many builders in this construction area, all deliveries so far have been made with trucks up to 40 tons without additional safety measures. It would be nice if someone has a suggestion on how to respond to such demands.
