Preliminary house construction contract

Hello,

we want to build a house in the near future and had a first consultation appointment yesterday. Now the nice gentleman has scheduled a second appointment so that he can calculate everything individually and give us a flat rate price. He mentioned something about a contract that lasts 15 months.

Now I’m not exactly sure how it works when he comes again and wants to calculate the exact price for us. Do you really have to sign something for him to do that?

I still want to get offers from more companies.
