Preheat the intake air of the outdoor unit of the air heat pump?!

Hello everyone,

we are getting an air heat pump and I was wondering if there are any ideas or examples on how I can provide the intake air a few degrees warmer for suction even in winter?
Dig a trench and lay a DN200 KG pipe there? Wrap the outdoor unit somehow or put a thermal cover in front of the unit during the winter?

I would use the exhaust air from the controlled residential ventilation, but unfortunately it is located in the attic.

Maybe some ideas will come up

Best regards
Almo

I think that is nonsense for the required air volume to do something with the size DN200. It would have to be bigger, but then comparatively little heat transfer takes place.

For comparison: Air-water heat pumps for indoor installation have air ducts from 50x50cm upwards to be able to suck in the necessary volume.

Yes, the fan does not have the corresponding size in the device out of sheer caprice.

The amount of air is indeed correct, but the argument is not entirely. The fan is also so large in order to ensure a corresponding flow at low speed with low noise, and due to the low speed, also a long maintenance-free period. A large fan does not automatically mean a large amount of air.

How much garden area do you have?
I would place the intake part as far away from the house as possible and thus lay the longest possible underground distance for preheating.

My outdoor unit is right next to the boiler room and the distance is therefore extremely short (2m)
