Hello,

I hope someone can help me with my question.
I am possibly planning to buy a prefabricated house that was built in 1993. Below are the specifications.

Are the materials up to date or would one no longer build like this nowadays? How long is the lifespan of such a house approximately?

Thank you very much for all the answers.

Best regards,
Andreas

I have never heard of a concrete chipboard. A 14 cm thick frame construction (the material of which is not even apparent, as far as the "specifications" go) insulated with mineral wool was already well below the average standard of the prefabricated house industry back then. That of a prefabricated house constructed according to its year of construction would certainly be comparable to that of a "solid" house. But this property is only worth the land price minus disposal costs. Maybe instead of a normal demolition company, the fire department could be brought in to use it as a training object: "F60" means that the construction only requires 60 minutes of fire exposure before becoming structurally questionable. Even back then, F90 was standard.

Thank you very much for the honest, comprehensive, and competent explanations.

Then I will not pursue this property any further. Thank you!
