Good day,
I want to create pad foundations for a carport, the holes 0.5*0.5*0.8 are already in place.
Now I was recommended the following.
Mix cement and sand 1:4, all dry!
Then fill the entire foundation hole with it.
Afterwards, soak it repeatedly from above with water for over a week.
Can that work?
How does the water get all the way down if the layers on top are already hardening?
Is this generally a good decision for pad foundations?
Additional reinforcing steel necessary? I would now at least include it everywhere.
It would certainly make setting the H anchors easier, but personally I have some doubts whether it will all hold like that.
