Plastered ceiling: paint only or use painter's fleece?

Hello,
our ceilings were cast with in-situ concrete and then plastered.
We assumed that the plaster could now simply be painted over.
However, the painter said it would look nicer if a [Malervlies] was applied before the paint. That way, a few corners might need to be touched up.
Does anyone have experience with this?
We think the ceiling plaster looks very good. And even if there really were a small unevenness somewhere, it probably wouldn’t be noticeable.
Therefore, we would actually like to save the effort and cost of the [Faservlies]...

The painter also wants to earn something

I looked at both in finished houses and then decided on fleece without hesitation. For walls and ceilings - the difference was clearly visible.

Pro fleece +1. It also conceals smaller cracks (which may also occur/will occur later).

also here... if you don’t want to put [Raufaser] on it, then definitely [Vlies]... without it you will see every unevenness

I agree with my two predecessors. I have fleece under the ceiling myself and am happy. Neighbors have foregone it and their ceilings look rather unfinished and restless compared to mine. I skipped the fleece on the walls in our hallway ... lack of time ... and will have to catch up later accordingly, because you can really see everything. Every little plaster change. The few euros for fleece are worth it.
