Hello everyone!

I wanted to ask what kinds of potatoes you like to plant. We usually plant the same red-skinned Rosella with "yellow" flesh every year. We are really enthusiastic about this variety.
Because it is waxy and above all very tasty. And also very versatile. Last year we also tried the Blue Congo. Unfortunately, it was absolutely useless because it fell apart after just 10 minutes of cooking. Cooking time - both salted and as jacket potatoes - it was a total mush in the pot. Besides, you can hardly see them when digging because they are almost black . We have also had Bamberger Hörnchen. They are very tasty. Well - and of course the good old Linda

Best regards Shey

Potato varieties: Nicola, Princess, Sieglinde

Hello Murmelchen!

So, I have my potatoes being cared for at my parents' farm

They have Quarta! An exceptionally good potato. It is suitable for salad, casseroles, that is, for cooking, etc.

However, I also like the Nicola, the Princess, and the Sieglinde. They are also very good for salad. I prefer the slightly waxy varieties best.

No more come to mind at the moment!

Best regards from Claudi, who wants to specialize in pumpkins :D

Depends on what you want to use the potatoes for, I love potato salad and Sieglinde is still the unsurpassed top choice there

Quarta potatoes

So, unfortunately I don't know the variety "Quarta" at all

Most of our flower beds have to make way for potatoes because we need potatoes for everything! even if they don't fit a dish lol

Is the variety Quarta more floury when cooked? Where can you get them?

Regards ninja

- Hi Ninja -

I just quickly called the foster parents of my potatoes!

You can buy the Qaarta at Raiffeisen/BayWa.

It is something between floury and waxy. So a middle ground, and in my opinion suitable for many things.
Yield is very good - which of course also depends on the respective soil. Size is medium to large. Harvest time is rather somewhat later, but not really late.
We now only have this variety. Some time ago we still had two or three varieties.

Best regards Claudi

Nicola Ostara and Bintje

hello
last year I entered the race with 3 varieties...
nicola, like every year, ostara and bintje...

the nicest thing about gardening, I think, is when something doesn't go particularly well, last year it was the tomatoes for me, then "usually" something else thrives all the better. just like last year with my potatoes. they were simply fantastic...

but you can't really do much wrong there either^^
