I recently got a photovoltaic system and it cost me €13,000. I would like to know, just for comparison, how much other people have spent on it. I would appreciate your answers. Lanew

Hello Lanew, The information, "my photovoltaic system cost €13,000" is about as meaningful as "my car cost €13,000". For a cost comparison, further information is required.

We have spent almost 20,000. That's quite a chunk, because the residential house roof is now fully covered with the modules. Let's hope we get the costs back!

Hello Jensbr, The costs will not amortize over the next 30 years according to common calculations. However, you have the certainty of contributing to CO2 reduction and, who knows what the future holds, a certain independence in electricity supply.

@Hertwick: Why should JensBr's system not amortize in 30 years? You yourself wrote that you have too little information regarding the profitability calculation or the expected yield. Then I don't understand how such an extreme statement can be made. Or was your statement meant ironically?

Hello Tracy88,
my answer was not meant to be ironic. You have also mixed two of my answers.
My answer to the very first question from Lanew was neither about profitability nor about technology, but only about the indication of costs (>cost comparison, not profitability).

My answer for JensBr referred to the payback period; here I had the statement, "the residential roof is now fully utilized."
And the common calculations indeed show that photovoltaic systems in single-family houses do not generally operate profitably.
