Hello,

during our last two visits to two building material dealers, I noticed samples of “solid joint sand” (one was called Stones Eco Fugensand) at the counter. This joint sand is supposed to be usable for regular concrete paving stones and hardens through watering. This is supposed to reduce weed growth in the joints. Does anyone have experience with this type of joint material or is it better not to use it?

Best regards
Sabine

Experience with Dan Sand no grow. That works too. Is good. Works. Distribute, sweep in, water lightly, leave alone, done. K.

You can also use Tubag tile grout. And a bottle of schnapps with it, even tough men puke from the smell of that stuff

Does the Dan Sand harden? I thought it was just gravel.
My building materials dealer sold me Dan Sand as a "premium version" compared to regular gravel (1-3) but didn't say anything about permanent hardening.

so yeah?!

is it really still permeable to water, as if only loose gravel had been swept in?

do you know how it behaves when the surface is cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner?
loose gravel is knocked out, then the sand too or does it withstand that?

once hardened, does it stay hard or does it need regular rain?
