Hello

The developer advises choosing different stones (for an extra charge) to save "surface water."

Simply asked, what does he mean by that..............................

Tomorrow,

briefly explained: in many municipalities/cities you have to pay wastewater fees for rainwater discharged into the sewer (per m²), if you use permeable paving you can be exempted from this. Whether this applies to you and if it is even worthwhile, you would have to check. The easiest option would probably be grass grid stones, but there are also pavements with large joints, pores, drillings, and so on.

OK thanks

now I have to ask a stupid question again. Is something like this usually worth it for a "standard stone"?

That totally depends on what the municipality charges for rainwater discharged into the sewer...

Just ask the wastewater utility,

I can give you prices for a simple permeable pavement because I recently built a project with it, where the m² (natural concrete) cost €8.25 and anthracite €10.25 (each net). (Google image search "Vario Drain"). Whether it is worth it, of course, depends on the area, wastewater fees, and of course what regular pavement would cost. Due to the wider joints, weeds naturally have larger areas to grow.

Hello,

What does the text in the land-use plan stipulations say? Is surface water even allowed to infiltrate or must it be directed into the public sewer? If the latter, you can forget any surcharge – unless you simply like the look better; otherwise, for example, the obligatory partly permeable stones as in the attachment. In my opinion, these should not require a surcharge.

Unfortunately, it is not entirely true, as my predecessor wrote, that you can generally get an exemption. If the municipality has invested a lot of money in expanding its pipeline networks, they will not hesitate to require you to connect to the sewer. The municipal coffers are mostly empty; that is why they often oppose infiltration basins.

Rhenish regards
