Hello everyone,

we have bought and renovated an older house (built in 1970). Unfortunately, it later became clear to us that although we are connected to the street sewer system, this connection is only through a pit. So initially, everything ends up there..., in this sense it is still in use. We now want to have parking spaces built, and this is only possible in this area. I am now concerned whether it is even possible to have it over a pit? Won't the entire pit sink under the weight of a car? The pit is quite large (unfortunately I don't have exact details) and made of concrete. On top is a concrete cover.

Maybe someone can answer my question?

Hi

Surely no one can do that like that.
Why not renew the line from the house to the street and fill in the pit?

The street sewer is apparently higher. It is a hillside location. First, the house was built and later the street and sewer. The garden, the drainpipe, and the pit are also located lower.

How does it go from the pit to the sewer when the street is higher?

Ok unnecessary question - I have already answered it myself.

Hello

What really matters is the level of the channel brine.
I can't really imagine that the inlet to the pit is located below the outlet.
The pipe from the house to the pit would constantly be filled with wastewater.
