Hello everyone,
We will soon have vinyl flooring installed in our house. There is a store that was recommended to us by 2-3 families, and they work almost exclusively with Parador products. So we first chose a variant of Parador.
Basic 30 was our first choice because of the height (~9.4mm if I’m not mistaken). Walking comfort is good, quiet. 3-4 layers with cork at the bottom as impact sound insulation. We thought it should be better than 4mm - 5mm vinyl.
Then today we were at Obi, a consultant advised us against (basic 30) because it is not waterproof, and recommended Modular One or Basic 4.3/5.3. Both are apparently waterproof. Due to walking comfort & warmth, we thought Modular One with 8mm height is the better choice between the two since the others are only 4-5mm.
Since we mainly want to lay it in our dining/living area + rooms (so no bathrooms), in our opinion they actually don’t have to be 100% waterproof. As far as we know, they are anyway much more waterproof than e.g. laminate.
Are we seeing the differences correctly between Modular One and Basic 30?
- Basic 30: Highest walking comfort/warmth etc. because of the height? And the price/performance ratio is somehow better here.
- Modular One: With 8mm very close, but without plasticizers, waterproof. And almost 30% more expensive.
We would appreciate any help/recommendation.
