Hello,
6 years ago, laminate flooring and baseboards were installed in our house by a floor fitter. Due to the appearance and the integrated cable channel, we decided at the time on Parador SL 18 baseboards in white. The floor fitter cut these at the inside and outside corners with miter cuts and sealed the joint edges with acrylic.
At first, this was acceptable and visually okay, but after 6 years the acrylic joints just look dirty and unfortunately the acrylic can no longer be cleaned properly. Additionally, the decor at the outside edges is slightly coming off. This happens, for example, if you accidentally kick it.
Now I thought that I could repair the inside and outside corners with appropriate cover strips. But I could hardly believe it, but it seems that Parador only offers silver-colored cover strips for the SL 18 baseboards. For all other decors, there are and were no cover strips. What was Parador thinking?
In order not to have to replace all the baseboards in our house, I am looking for a solution to repair the unsightly joint edges. In any case, neither acrylic nor silicone should be used for this. My first thought was maybe to use a decorative adhesive tape, but I was advised against this in the hardware store because I wouldn't be able to do it "neatly."
Do you possibly have a few tips for me?
Regards Jochen
