Hello everyone,

our house construction is coming to an end and now the topic "planning painter" is on the agenda.

All rooms, except wet rooms, have received gypsum plaster from us.
The wet rooms, guest WC, bathroom, and utility room have a lime-cement plaster.

We want to have the topic professionally executed and have had the first contractors on site. Unfortunately, with "3 people, 3 opinions."

Therefore, the following questions arise for us:

- One says that renovation fleece can be easily removed after a few years, another says that it cannot be removed from the wall. What is true here?

- One says fleece is crack-covering especially in new construction, another says fleece worsens the appearance in case of settling because fleece can then form wrinkles. What is true here?

- Would you take the detour over renovation fleece with a properly executed gypsum plaster or would you (after fine filling) paint the plaster directly?

Thank you very much for your feedback.

With fleece it is better, as crack formations remain invisible. Probably. With fleece it also becomes smoother. Without it is cheaper. We have it without and so far have been lucky with cracks, but we also had a fairly dry house when we moved in.

I would apply a 120g fiber fleece. It conceals shrinkage cracks and slight settlement cracks. It is also easy to remove again.
