Painted steel column or plastered wooden column

Hello everyone,

as the title already describes, I would be interested to know if you know which is more expensive? Perhaps both are price-neutral or negligibly different from each other.

It concerns supports underneath a balcony, which forms a covered terrace area below. Both variants would be supplied and installed by the wooden house provider.

I do have a reasoning in mind myself, but I would first like to hear your opinion or explanations. Looking forward to it...

Financially, the unplastered wooden post is unbeatable in my opinion. ;)
