Good morning everyone,

We want to equip our terrace roof (3.5 x 5m) with outdoor curtains. Since these are not needed in good weather, they should be able to be fully drawn to the side. The curtains will have eyelets, so either a curtain rod (round tube) or wire tension system will be used. After initial research, however, I have the problem that there is no curtain rod that spans at least 250cm without an additional support. That would be a no-go since the curtain could no longer be fully drawn to the side. Alternatively, I would also be satisfied with a wire tension system, but unfortunately I encountered the same problem here. Is it really so uncommon to stretch a curtain rod or wire over 250cm without additional support? I am looking forward to your ideas.

Best regards

If you don't find anything, just take 2 curtains each 2.5 m and then push them to both sides. Then they won't be connected in the middle when closed, but that's not a problem.

Whether it is unusual, I cannot say. But our curtains on the terrace roof are also hung on wire cables. They are almost 5m on the longest side. Since the curtain, when extended, does not put too much strain on the cable at any one point, it also sags only slightly in the middle. So it should work without any problems.

The problem is that even 250 cm don't work without a third, central support (at least according to manufacturer specifications) Thanks, then we'll just try it. Do you have any manufacturer/model recommendation?

What for the model tip? For the rope system? I put it together myself. Plastic-coated wire rope, rope tensioner, hooks, and rope clamps. Possibly also threaded rivets and eye screws if you have aluminum posts. You don't need more than that. The curtains are from easy2shade.

So we had a cable system over a little more than 3 m. Without an additional central support. But I can't tell you a manufacturer, it was a simple cheap system bought on eBay.
