Our two-story house floor plan

Hello,

we are currently planning our house. It should have 2 full floors, a roof with about 23 degrees, and a basement. Attached are our ideas for the floor plans. What else comes to your mind? Praise and criticism are warmly welcome. Oh yes, on the right side the house has no windows because there is another house there to which it must be attached.

So, bring on your opinions.

Oh yes, there are no windows on the right side of the house, as another house is located there that it has to be attached to.

Hello Astrid, hello Andi,
looks pretty good, even if the floor plans are from a system house manufacturer, they don’t have to be bad. The only things to consider are the following:
1. Is there a basement?
2. Where should the house connection be if there is no basement? Under the stairs is not possible
3. The hallway on the ground floor is way too big, unless you leave out the wall to the living room. Then you (man or woman) gain extra space. If that’s not the case, I would reduce the hallway size
4. The toilet door opens the wrong way. You bump your head when you’re in a hurry (but still have the door open outwards)
5. The bathroom upstairs is also not ideal
6. How is the roof designed? Walkable or not?

So:
- I assume the basement from the floor plan (I think I can recognize ventilation shafts there)
- The door to the WC is really unfortunate, as it certainly will not open inward
- Personally, I wouldn’t make the hallway smaller, a corridor where you can barely turn around is TORTURE
- I find it hard to imagine the "wall protrusion" for the stairs from the outside view
- I personally also always find a spiral staircase difficult to use
- Bedroom quite small if there is not going to be a walk-in closet
- The narrow windows (on the west?), i.e. bathroom and pantry, are questionable, since due to the window frame it feels like 20-30cm of glass remains or are they supposed to be floor-to-ceiling windows?
- I would minimize the wall recess in the living area and child’s room somewhat, otherwise the child’s rooms could quickly look like small cabins
- Whether interior walls on the upper floor can completely differ from those on the ground floor due to load distribution (bearing walls) I can’t tell you
-> even though this sounds like a lot of criticism, I quite like the floor plan at least
