Hello everyone,
after we have now been awarded a plot of land on which we can imagine realizing our dream of owning a home, of course, we are thinking about its orientation and the existing possibilities to build on it.
The main direction points east, which is not ideal, and the constant question arises about what will happen with the midday and evening sun.
In advance: however, for this orientation, one is compensated with a location on the outskirts of town and an unobstructed eastern view into nature (slight slope) and a view of the Swiss Alps (to the south).
Nevertheless, one naturally wants to get the maximum sun in the afternoon and evening as well.

Since the plan of the neighboring plot to the south is available, I took the effort to familiarize myself with Google Sketchup.

Our plot is the middle one of the three, measuring 22.5m x 38.5m
(one contour line corresponds to 0.5m, so it is only a gently sloping site which - as can be seen from other buildings in the street - can be well balanced.
Since the plot is relatively narrow with its 22.5m and I do not want to be too close to the neighbor with my south terrace, the question now is how to orient my buildings on it to move as far north as possible.
Garages and carports must fit within the 15m wide building zone. A double garage would push me too far south...
